In 2015, retailer Lowe’s put a 3D printer in space. It partnered with Make in Space & Nasa to do so. A year ago, it made a virtual reality room where its customers could design their homes before making purchases.
All this might sound straight out of science fiction. Well it isn’t. Meet Kyle Nel, the man behind Lowe’s innovation labs which made the Holoroom and also put a 3D printer in space. Nel, a social scientist, draws his inspiration from science fiction.
