Former top Google executive who had joined Uber last year has been asked to quit as he failed to reveal to the company that his exit from Google was following an allegation of a sexual harassment which the company found “credible,” according to Recode.

Recode’s Kara Swisher wrote earlier today that Singhal was asked to resign by Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and that he denied allegations that he left his former employer Google after a sexual harassment complaint surfaced.

Singhal is on the board two Indian companies including payments player Paytm and fitness wearable company GoQii. The 48-year old IIT graduate joined GoQii’s board in April last year and Paytm in October 2016. FactorDaily has reached out to both companies for a comment.

In a statement to Recode, Singhal said: “Harassment is unacceptable in any setting. I certainly want everyone to know that I do not condone and have not committed such behavior.”

Uber is currently fire fighting to restore its reputation, after a female engineers’ blog post called out instances of systemic gender discrimination and the company’s careless attitude towards sexual harassment.
